Naming events so a paediatric advisor can read the funnel
If your event names only make sense to engineers, clinical and counselling partners cannot challenge the story the funnel tells.
We once inherited a taxonomy where onb_step_3_complete meant “parent skipped the paediatric disclaimer.” The funnel celebrated completion; the advisor was horrified once the label was translated.
A naming habit that survives handoffs
Prefer verb-object names caregivers would recognise in an interview: viewed_sleep_disclaimer, skipped_sleep_disclaimer, saved_wake_window. Keep engineering IDs in a parallel column if needed, but never only in the chart title.
Glossary before charts
Our review method begins with a one-page glossary for exactly this reason. See the Review Method page for the four movements we use on every flagship engagement.
